After collecting the rock samples, she moved back to The Netherlands. But thinks are totally changed. Now she wanted to travel more.
Then she booked a flight again to Australia. She travels a lot in Australia and then goes to New Zealand and then to India. In India, she decided to do a long ride on a motor cycle. When she travels across India, she was decided to drop her PHD and start a new life in travelling to the world.
Getting Money for Travelling
When Noraly Schoenmaker was backed to home after collecting the rock samples, she was decided to travelling to the world as a backpacker. So, she booked a ticket again to Perth, Australia. There she finds a job in a mining company where she works as geologist. She worked there for 6 month and fill some money in her bank account to travel the world.
Then she started travelling across South east Asia, South America, Central America and east Africa for two years. After travelling continuously for two years, all the money she saved in her bank account, was empty. Now she was broken and got into depressing. Then she moved back to home The Netherlands and found another job in an international company. In this company, Noraly Schoenmaker aka Itchy Boots got many opportunities to travel many countries like Morocco, Panama, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Bahamas, Kuwait, Brazil and many countries. This job was very good and she was doing this job for 5 years. In between this job, she also travels Greenland and took the trans-Siberian express train through Russia and Mongolia. She also travels many European countries in these 5 years.
Back packing to Motorcycle Traveler
Noraly was very interested in bike riding. Because she knows about it. In the year 2015, she got a bike riding license in The Netherlands. She also bought a second-hand Ducati 796. It was her first monster bike. But she sold this bike when she sold her house to travel full time like Eva Zu Beck (a full time traveler from Poland).
She knew about bike riding. So, she rented a bike “Royal Enfield Himalayan BS3” in Manali and ride 3000km on this bike. She also did some off-roading on this bike. The she realized that, she won’t be going for back packing. Now she was choosing a bike and decided to make this a new mode transporting and travelling to the world.
YouTube Journey
After working for 5 years for that international company, she was now decided to travel full time. She left that job and sold her house and booked a one-way ticket to India. She chooses India, because India is a poor country and she can travel across in India in a very low budget. Noraly was now started travelling solo like a backpacker.
She started a blog “Itchyboots” where she writes about back packing in India and Bangladesh. Noraly was visit in North India only and she stayed in Manali. There she knows about bike renting business. It was very cheap for her and she was very interested in it. Currently she has more than 1.5 million+ subscribers on her YouTube channel.
ItchyBoots Bike Riding Journey
Noraly was bought a brand-new Royal Enfield Himalayan in Delhi. Her plan is to travel to Malaysia via Myanmar and Thailand. She was thinking to start make videos of her journey and bought a Gopro action camera to shoot travel videos. She creates a YouTube channel and name it “Itchybotts”. Noraly was now posting videos on her channel and started gaining on YouTube.
After reaching in Malaysia, she was not tired and wanted to more riding. So, she was thinking to get the bike to her home The Netherlands. She ships the bike to Oman and started her Europe journey from Oman. Finally, she reached home after crossing 25 countries via Iran, central Asia and back to Europe.
After completing, Europe, now she was doing America. She started journey from Patagonia all the way to Alaska. But she faces many problems. Because her bike Himalayan can’t go for this ride. Because this bike was manufactured in India and it doesn’t meet the European safety and technical requirements. Now she was talking Royal Enfield showroom in The Netherlands and ask them to exchange the bike. Luckily, they agreed with this plan and exchange the same bike with a new European licensed number plate. Then she shipped the bike to Argentina where she started this ride to Alaska. Then she travels 5 months across Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Chile.
Then she started her next trip from South Africa after the covid-19 pandemic. She bought a new Honda CRF 250L and started her 6-month journey across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. In Africa, she was also joined a rally name Kalahari. But she left Africa and Kalahari rally due to the ownerships of the bike and many other problems in that bike.
